Gouri festival is the biggest festival in Kannada country. Gouri festival on the day of Bhadrapada. Gauri festival is mainly known as the festival of women. It is believed that it is a festival that brings good luck to all the lovers.

A man of the tribe says, "If you give a garland (sacrifice) of a grandfather to the lake, it will rain enough to fill the lake." Then Aura Gowda gets worried. Who would agree to this?
Then his elder daughter-in-law 'Gauri' comes forward and says, "If it rains and the lake fills up, make a promise to sacrifice Muttaide. If the lake fills up, I will fulfill that promise." Similarly, Gowda carries the haraka. As if by coincidence, the same year it rained so much that all the lakes overflowed. As promised to her father-in-law, Gauri falls into that lake and loses her life. Her sister 'Gange' (Kiri Sose) also throws herself into the lake the next day, unable to bear the pain of separation from her elder sister.
Remembering this Gauri, the ritual of bringing water from that lake (which is believed to be Sule Kere) to a Tambi, worshiping it, and releasing it back into the same lake may have been implemented. In some parts of the mountains, there is a ritual of worshiping the Ganga after leaving the Gauri.
